If I ever move out of home, you’ll find me at The Cabin in Mt Hawthorn... Complete with bizarre ornaments, prints on feature brick walls, flickering candles and a fabulous collection of wines… But this is way better than going to a friend's house for dinner - the food is top quality and styled artistically on beautiful white plates.  There’s an infectious energy humming through the joint... in a word... it’s fantastic!  If the buzz about The Cabin continues, then the same thing could well happen here.  Just remember the armchair is taken.

....in a Ralph Laurenish room with Shaker furniture, Scandinavian wood tones, old radios, framed pictures, mounted deer antlers, framed beetle collections... are strewn with a studied casualness... It’s breathlessly hip, but for all its artifice, it’s cosy and welcoming. The Cabin is a brilliant small bar, stylish, pretty and serious about its business. In fact you could argue it’s the apogee of the WA government’s small bar initiative, so perfectly does it fit the intention of the laws, which were to allow for smaller bars to provide an alternative to traditional hotel beer barns...

The Cabin in Mt Hawthorn is well on its way to becoming Perth’s grooviest enclave of mastication, rumination and vegetation over a coldie. This newish and rather delicious wine bar is pretty much one big room, cleverly divided into social subcontinents by furniture. You can sit anywhere, drink anywhere, eat anywhere and because The Cabin operates under one of those wonderful small bar licenses, you don’t actually have to eat to drink...They know their stuff here and it shows. Love it!
